Does anyone currently subscribe to a satellite radio service such as Sirius Satellite or XM radio? If so, how do you like it? If you have experienced both, which is the better? Thanks for any input. Pat.

Thanks for asking this. I was thinking of getting on myself so I can listen to Fox in the car, along with cool tunes and the like.

Which XM channel do you hear Sean Hannity on?

My neighbor has XM and she loves it. That's all I know about it.
My opinion. I have driven around the country several times. Satellite would be great for those trips. I live just far away from LA to be in a lighlty covered radio area. So satellite may be in my next car. However, if I lived closer to LA or any other big city, I'd take a pass and just do the numerous channels already available.

I not only have one I used to work for an XM channel. It really depends. As far as "portability" goes it ain't a walkman and must always be plugged in with big clumsy antenna. However, the variety of channels are pretty good but no Rush Limbaugh, Mike Savage, or Sean Hannity, though. While there are a lot of live channels, there are too many pre-taped channels. It's good to drive crross-country with b/c you don't lose channels, but sometimes you do lose all channels in areas that do not have XM Receivers in the area.

That's good to know, I have been switching my XM radio off at 3:00 pm est and tuning into WMAL on the AM dial that doesn't come in to clearly. I won't have to do that anymore :-)
By any chance does ABC Talk broadcast Rush Limbaugh?
Thanks a bunch for the info,
MJY

Do the XM radios have any sort of access-control card, or how do the things work? If you wanted to have a portable stereo and also listen in your car, would you need two subscriptions, or can you transplant some card or other gizmo wherever you want to listen, or what?

One radio, one subscription, but if you get a portable unit that can be used in the car and the house (like I have) you can take the radio with you where ever you go.
Basically you have a radio that detaches from a console, simular to a slide mount car stereo. I like mine and would recommend it to anyone who would want a XM radio

I have an XM, great for music, but mostly a poor talk lineup (exception Hanity on WABC).

I just got a satellite radio last week. I got the Delphi XM radio and the home and car adapter kits. I also got the portable boombox which allows you to take the radio anywhere you go. I don't know a lot about the talk stations yet other than I like being able to listen to the Fox News Channel while in the car. The quality of the sound is excellent when hooked up to your home stereo and it is extremely easy to do. I listen to the 50's and 60's channels a lot and love the oldies.
