A Freeper's Observation: The Free Market At Work.

HOWDY FREEPERS!!!!

An issue that has not yet been addressed here that I've been able to find is all the whining and moaning by the left about conservatives dominating the radio airways.

This is what happened recently at a USC forum in which the topic was the new FCC media ownership rules being put toghether.

One of the witnesses ran an artist promoting firm and gave what turned out to be discredible testimony about Rush Limbaugh and Newt Gingrich conspiring with Clear Channel to create a conservative monopoly over the radio airways and overturning the Fairness Doctrine in 1988.

There were several things wrong with that testimony.

First off, Rush's show was not syndicated Nationally until 1988. Secondly, Rush's asociation with Clear Channel did not begin until 1998.

Thirdly, the Fairness Docrine was repealed because more and more media outlets were becoming available for liberals to turn to now. It was there because radio and T.V. were the only places to turn to eariler for news and information but that's not the case anymore.

But, most importantly, More and more people are getting sick and tired of being talked down to by Rather, Brokaw, Jennings and their type and they want other places to turn to besides CNN and the Big Three.Conservatism is what is selling on the radio. NOT Liberlism, NOT Progressivism, NOT Moderatism, but CONSERVATISM. This is what people want to hear.

NO, it is not Clear Channel that is manipulating the market as some would like you to believe. It's the American Public that is manipulating the market. It's called FREE ENTERPRISE and the left doesn't like it one bit because the it's American Public and not goverment that's making the decisions.

When you allow the American Public to decide what radio stations they want to listen to, you're encouraging innovation, new ideas, a much brighter future for our country. The Fairness Doctrines assumes that goverment knows what's best for the American Public, but the reality is it doesn't. When goverment gets in the way, innovation is stified and people are left with fewer chocies for news and information and commnunity based raido suffers becuase broadcasters become too timid to cover local issues of public importance.

The latest radio survey for Oklahoma City has Rush's affiliatte KTOK checking in at #1. Many of Rush's affiliates have at one point or another hit the top spot in their respective markets.

Again proof that the Free Market world of ideas and Free Enterprise is working and People are getting what they want. What a pity it would be if all that work was stifled by the goverment simply because a small groups of elitists ever got their way through emotional blackmail and influence.

More accusations from the left. Like Bush controls all media (I've heard that one too)...I'd have to respond that if Bush is controlling all media, he's not doing a good job of it.

The left wants to hear only the "truth". Truth means whatever matches their agenda...silence everything else.
