SAN FRANCISCO (AP) -- Cleveland Indians pitchers Brian Anderson and Carl Sadler turned into crime fighters over the weekend, chasing down a youth who attempted to steal a purse from a woman in a restaurant across from their team's hotel.

My first thought of course was that I wish they'd do this good a job against hitters and baserunners.

My second thought was that with the Indians' traditional luck, this will have been a gang initiation and they'll get a whole bunch of threats from the little punk's erstwhile comrades. >:o

Then they waited for police.

"We held the guy for about 20 minutes," Anderson said.

And the gun grabbers always say that its better to call 9-1-1 than have a 1911. Bah!
