Get a good night's sleep and if you currently drink coffee, do so prior to the test. But especially sleep. If you don't know it by now you won't be able to cram it by then.

I know someone else taking it too (in Atlanta, Right?)

Thanks-just ignore my poor use of the English language. Have you taken the test?

Yes, at 2:00 p.m. at the Marriott Marquis. What time is your friend taking it?

Pray. That sucker's tough.

I don't know - I'll ask her. She is an engineer who graduated from Tech. She ran track there.

If you're
smart, you'll stay at a Holiday Inn tonight.

One day champion about 5 years ago.
The written test is hard. Just write down the first answer that comes to mind.
If nothing springs to mind, skip it and get ready for the next one. They come very fast and it's easy to get behind.
If you get past the written, remember that if they give you and opportunity to try out they are looking more for whether you can follow the rules and look like you might be entertaining than they are for someone who will beat the others trying out. I think they assume that if you pass the written you have the knowledge.
Also try to write something intriguing about yourself for Alex to use when he does his "interview."

Practice saying, "Alex, I'd like Moose and Cheese for $1000."

Well, I didn't pass the test. I think I need to buy Opera for Dummies. I thought I had a chance after I took it, but only 6 people were kept out of a group of 75 or so. It was a good experience though, and thanks to Freepers for their advice. I'll get them next year.

The only thing I know about Opera is what Twain said about Wagner... "It's not as bad as it sounds."
Good luck next time around.

Well, I didn't pass the test.Obviously, you didn't stay at a Holiday Inn as I suggested.

I talked to one of the guys administering the test. I think you have to get 90% to pass the written. Only about 10% normally qualify, so your experience wasn't uncommon.
BTW, it's interesting that women who qualify have a significantly better chance of actually getting on the show. Women who try out do just as well as the men, but about 3 times as many men try out. So qualified women have about a 3 times greater chance of actually getting on the show.

You're right. Next year, I'll move into one for a week prior to the test. Then, I'll take over the world-that is the Jeopardy world.
