Happy Easter to all my FReeper FRiends!!!
We had hoped to be in our new church building this AM for Easter service.....but....
...it's just a shade away from being ready, and we can't hold service until they inspect it, and that won't be until Tuesday!
Soooooo....
...knowing this ahead of time, we ordered a large tent to be erectd right next to the potential church.....and it surely must have been God's will, because it really drew attention, and we had a good number of visitors.
Saturday hubby & I spent at church ....stuffing bulletins, and visitor folders.
It was a beehive of activity.....getting the tablecloths ironed for the dessert tables, putting up bulletin boards in the educational part of the building so perspective visitors/members could visit & see all the neat things we will be doing.
Plus, one of our artists painted a beautiful mural on the nursery wall......a wall full of little lambs & white fluffy clouds.
This morning, hubby & I were to be 'greeters' along with another couple.
We arrived early, and it was a gloriously beautiful day to have Easter service outside......a not to hot Florida day with a wonderful little breeze blowing.
The little kids started arriving in their Easter finery......the little girls were adorable in their chiffon & crinolines, and lace.
The little boys looked uncomfortable in their snap-on ties and already half of them had their shirttails out, LOL.
The couple who were to greet with us arrived.....and LOL, she & I were dressed almost EXACTLY alike!!
We both had on sleeveless coral sheath dresses and the very same melon/coral knit short sleeve sweater....(we bought it at the same store)
Folks would arrive and laugh at us.....they thought we had planned it that way :)))
Right as service started.....4 young adults--3 guys & one gal, maybe late teens, early twenties arrived.....and sat right up front!
We hadn't seen them before, and they were dressed rather casually (which was fine)...and the gal had pink hair!!!...Easter egg pink!
But they were very respectful and listened attentively to the sermon.
I was glad they were there.
I kept thinking some mother somewhere would be glad to know her son is sitting quietly & respectfully at an Easter service :)))
Afterward, folks greeted them and talked to them.
Immediately following the sermon, we had an Easter egg hunt for the kids.....
..they were all so adorable!!
And refreshments for the adults.....pastries, coffee and orange juice.
Then folks started leaving....but hubby changed clothes and I changed shoes, and we started packing up the church.....
..carrying chairs inside, taking off table cloths to wash, putting away napkins, plates, cups and condiments....and etc.
I'm exhausted now....and guess what....
...ready for a nap!!!
We did Easter yesterday with Mom & Dad...
..Dad has been sick, so we took over homemade chicken soup, a cake and some groceries...and an Easter basket.
HAPPY EASTER.....Guennie needs a nap!
