I caught MY mom doing the same thing...she was chidding the Older Niece about picking through the Candy Basket...then when I came back in the house from seeing Mark off, Mom was sitting on the couch with the candy basket in her lap, picking through it!!!!

Thats what I was doing, picking through her basket. I mean she flat sliped up on me and caught me redhanded.

As someone on another thread put it the other day, the Saddam regime is no longer playing with a full deck ..... :-)

Of course, from what I've heard, I think some of them were quite a few cards short of a full deck long ago ..... and it was cards like "nice," "decent," and "civilized" that were missing.

No mushroom cocktails here.

After soaking them in saltwater, to get the bugs out, I drain them, dip them in a mixture of egg and milk, then dredge in flour and fry them in BUTTER.

It truely is sinful to eat more than a few, but the temptation is so great,,, occasionally, I fall off the wagon and indulge more than I should.

The only saving grace is the incredible difficulty in finding the little rascals in the first place.

#61..It was Sweetie...very lovely and encouraging.

We just loved watching the children.

We have one family with 6 children....the youngest about 3 months.(I've told you about them.....they struggle to make ends meet)

But they were all there, and the children were adorable....especially the next to youngest (just a toddler)...and I took his little hand & walked him to the pastry table, and he grabbed a little fistfull and stuffed it all in his mouth at once...

..his mom says that's the way he eats....very aggressively.

After we cleaned him up, his managed to get more pastry.

But this little family did their share....bringing several boxes of cookies.
