It looks as though a "Damage Control" media blitz is under way to salvage the Dixie Chicks as they prepare to start their American Tour on May 1st. From tour info see:

And to think, if the Chicks were Bush supporters the elite media and Janeane Garofalo would be making fun of them.

I hope they do Landslide. I have to admit I think Nicks' version is better, but this version did grow on me after a while. Although the new album does have several good tracks on it

I don't think NBC is being pro-Chicks. They're just replaying an episode from earlier this season. Not like they're gonna let it rot on the shelf.

Can't happen here. They are toast. We had dinner with friends tonight and we discussed the Chicks and Tim Robbins/Susan Sarandon. Our conversations are seldom--if ever--political, and our views are seldom--if ever--congruous. There was complete consensus tonight, though.

Anyone who suggests that this is a passing anger is mistaken. The resentment is deep and broad.

No doubt the media would have ignored the Dixie Chicks if they hadn't slammed our President.

I suppose that makes them stars amongst the liberal press.

Now we get to hear yet another entertainer explain why we have no rights to boycott them, and that by even questioning them we are the ones who are unpatriotic.

...guests both on 'FoX News Sunday' and 'MEET the PRESS' in the morning.

Such a CLARITY delight.

There's a conservative in my office who still loves the Dixie Chicks. She's going to the concert in Austin when they get here. She's telling everyone she'll brave any number of hecklers to see her 'Chicks. I imagine they'll get most of their audience back. Entertainers usually do. It really takes the 'biz to finish an act. You know, like their label dropping them and no one picking them up.
