US didn't invade Iraq because it had WMD. Lots of countries have WMD. It doesn't matter whether Iraq has them or not. Iraq was invaded because it didn't adhere to the armistice and cooperate with the inspectors. Hope that clears up your misconception.

Okay, I'll play. Interestingly enough, there is more than one person on the right that thinks as you do. And while your facts are close to correct, you're making statements in a vacuum. As you may recall, 9-11 created a new doctrine - that was the doctrine of preempting those who we believe are threatening to us. I happen to believe that this is the proper route. Remember, JC, this is not a war on Iraq, but the battle of Iraq, just as it was the battle of Afghanistan. The war is on terror.

Why was Iraq so important at this point in time? One word - OIL. Why, because you say so? Why if we wanted oil didn't we take it the first time we were in Iraq? Why didn't we stay in Kuwait after we liberated it? But the big question is what are you going to bitch about if we are out of Iraq in 18 months?
