If Liberation Iraq bodes Well, Powell could become First Black President in 2008

If the liberation of Iraq bodes well, especially post-war Iraq upturn that trends for what the brass is hoping to be a so-called “Renaissance Iraq” for Democracy in the Arab word, then it could be likely that Powell could run, and win, the Presidency of the United States in 2008. It does not matter that in some measure, Powell argued the negotiation viewpoint, and protracted “inspections” and U.N. mandate, the insults by the French were even too much for him and his sense of diplomacy, Powell coming on board with long term goals that better favor the interests of the world than anything the failed United Nations could achieve. There is no doubt about aspects of opposition to Powell within the Republican conservative movement, but it is likely that victory in Iraq could bring Powell a constituency from many elements of American society, including support of conservatives in large measure. There is a term that is just starting to be word-smithed by the brass, “Renaissance Iraq”, and if Democracy can make an inroads into the Arab world, then this would likely advance the prospect of Powell in 2008 even more, there is no doubt that Powell could, would, play a leadership position in the “Renaissance Iraq” program.

Of course, a “Renaissance Iraq” and Democracy in the Arab world, and a Bush 2004 followed by Powell 2008 Presidency could not be a worst nightmare for the left in America and their socialist, communist, and totalitarian allies.

Renaissance Iraq will, in one sense, become a kind of Hollywood collection of sets of antiquity, and just as Saddam used such antiquity as a iconic stature for his rule, the same antiquity could be used to advance such a Renaissance, and with the use of modern communications the advance of such a Renaissance could provide a visual antiquarianism of the Renaissance as a message to the people of the Arab world that Democracy can be an avenue to representation, to government, to power itself, for any man, or even woman, of any class, cleric or not.

The new middle-class of Iraq, free, democratic, can mean that opportunities, even of wealth, and skill, can translate, transform, the chivalric dream of militant Islam, a dream doomed for failure, into a visual panorama of a new recreation which will surely succeed. That is why the liberals, the left, the socialists and communists, the Islamic terrorists, the despotic rulers of the Arab world, are all united against it. Yes indeed, a Renaissance Iraq, and a continuum of the Bush agenda through 2004 by the current president, and 2008 into 2012 by a Powell Presidency, is the liberal left's and the Arab despots worst nightmare. It would be the America-haters worst nightmare.

A Renaissance Iraq would mean that there would now be two satellites of democracy in the Middle East – Israel and Iraq. While Israel is the boogie man used by the terrorists and despots of the Middle East as a means of propaganda, a Democratic Iraq would, however, and of course, directly threaten the totalitarian left, the United Nations, and the Arab despots – because it would in fact influence the direction of the Arab world, and it would much more than just a influence but a driving inspiration towards a free Arab world and freedom for Arab people, and more and more of the people in the Arab world will demand the same. In addition, there will be certain Shia clerics that you will find come out of the “wood works” with a very interesting development – the strange wedding of the medieval Book (Quran) with so much politicized darkness of the modern age will become, interestingly enough, a Book of politicized renaissance, a source of contention for social equality and freedom. And, it won’t be long after that that you will have the phenomena of an Arab cleric quoting Sir Francis Bacon.

Of course, all this sounds like so much fantasy – Powell in 2008. And, the brass and their idea of “Renaissance Iraq”, a strange idea on paper. Or is it?

I think, maybe, they are very smart people. Maybe this all will turn out to be a real change in the world. We are told that all the Arab world will hate us, in our victory. Of course, it is Peter Arnet, CNN, the United Nations, the Left, the terrorists, the depots, who tell us that. But, I guess we will find out. And, maybe Renaissance Iraq is going to work. I think, maybe, even Iraqi people may like it a lot more than the Left says they will. They say we are living in strange times. Historically strange times.

The military option was persued in spite Colin Powell not because of him. He only got on board when France started stabbing him in the back. He's also a major RINO.

Other than the fact he is pretty liberal on most domestic issues such as abortion, 2A rights, and affirmative action, I think anything is possible.

He is electable certainly, and I would respect him as president, but he won't run.

He was always on board with the wishes of this president. His job was to maintain an open door till the moment diplomacy was hopeless.

He will be rather old for the job in 2008. He would be 71 whe elected, the oldest in American history to be elected to a first term, and almost two years older than Ronald Reagan was when he was elected in 1980.

No way. He is solidly associated with his desire to delay the war. His contribution has been limited to speaches at the UN. He is not being pushed as having any real responsibility beyond that.

If anyone could become the first black president out of this it's Condi Rice.
