The anti-war protesting makes me a bit testy too....OK, downright mean and pissy...OK, OK....
Dang near dangerous if they catch me too early in the mornin'
My take? For some, it is a lark..trendy (hip huggers, retro music and WEEEE a PEACE RALLY!)
Many of them are young and have never been had to do without, been scared, trapped, terrorised etc...
The are clueless about anything in the rest of the world...
And most of all, very naive (in my circle).
To them, "Geez, war is bad! Can't you see that!" or even funnier, "Now everyone in the world hates us!" (This from one of my former cheerleader students)
This is too real for them, a culture raised on Playstation and Reality TV...
To finally realize that every thing you take for granted are at risk.....What are you willing to do to keep them?
Wow, death is scarey, war is ugly...
Such is the nature of life....The sorrow defines the joy....
The loss of what you hold dearest is what makes you value it most.
I learned that sometimes you have to show your strength to gain respect. Peace is wonderful, but sometimes, it looks like fear or weakness....and can be used to hurt you.
For, me the thing I value most are my freedoms
I can live without hot water, lights, even my mornin' coffee...but not my freedom....and freedom of fear is one I value most...

I have the same reaction to the activists. There are few people in this world that would say they are pro-"war". To be honest, I have always moved more in the direction of anti-war, although never have protested. As a matter of fact, way, way back when a war was brought up in regards to Iraq I was against it. I didn't want the people to have to suffer. But I decided to get an intense education on the subject and have moved all the way over to the other side. I am 41 years old and have seen a couple of wars in my life. But after everything I have read, pro, anti, Arab, world, politics, education, ok, I have covered ALOT of territory. I believe in balance when it comes to learning about "hot" topics. After all of that I came to the conclusion that the "******" needs to DIE!! And use his henchmen to cover him instead of dirt, they are dirt. To be honest, although I am not in any way a violent person, I would love to watch as Saddam receives at least a few of his own torture tactics. After everything he has done, he was given a chance to run away with his tail between his legs, but he is too egotistic to do that. Done with rant for now. (Uh, don't like that last word.)
