Dual Use

"Dual Use"

Ahhh...we have finally decided to take care of business.

They talked about the soldiers "adjusting" to the circumstances...and they have.

My guess:

Our President has said, "I don't want another Vietnam...."

Response: "...Then let us take out the 'dual usage' locations."

Mr. Bush: "Take care of it"

It's about time!

Look, we know that you think we know what you think you mean. However, we don't know what you mean, although I am sure you think you know what you mean. Try again, or go back to your day job.

Watching FOX...noticing the use of term "Dual Use" more and more as a reason for a particular bobming campaign.

Still doesn't help. Try filling in your explanation with the actual thoughts that are bouncing around in your head. Typing every other sentence doesn't convey what you are thinking. Unless of course you actually think like you type too, then we will continue to have a serious communication problem.

No problem.

Sorry for the cryptic post.

As I was watching FOX, I'm noticing more and more references to things like, " ...they bombed position x because the military said it had a 'dual use' "

(civilian as well as military)

This seems to be a shift from 'minimize civilian casualties at all costs' to more like 'take care of business'...

Perhaps I'm late to the party here, and this has been going on for awhile...but it's definitely a term that I've heard more and more in the last couple of hours.

Thanks. And I'm glad to see your explanation. Hope you are right. As much as I took pride in trying to minimize civilian deaths (I was hoping the first "target of opportunity" bombing would miraculously get the job done), I also fear the ramifications of an overly PC war.

Had those first bombs taken out Sadaam and ended it right there, the Left would be sunk for decades.

It appears that things are going to be a bit more difficult, so I guess we have to take the gloves off. We gave the Iraquis an opportunity to rise up. If they choose to let us die first, then we will have to worry just a bit more about minimizing our own losses.

Don't worry about it. Just took a bit of encouragement. Once you explained yourself, I got something new out of it!
