Vanity Post: How ready are we?

How ready for the Iraq fight are we?

Last time we sent 8 Armor/Mech Divisions, 2 Airborne Divisions, and a Marine Division and had a further allied 5 mech or armor divisions. Are we jumping the gun when we only have 1 heavy US division in theater? The Marines, 101st and Brits are great, but I want some serious additional armored firepower to make this fight as short and casualty free as possible.

Lest I be accused of being a peace type, I want us to go, I just want us to go with MORE. I want the Powell doctrine..OVERWHELMING force. I am vet and a dog faced soldier, 3ID is great, but how about a little help?

Last time we sent 3 armored divisions; we only have 1 left, and it isn't there. Last time we had 3 ACRs at the tip of each corps spear. We have one ACR left (the 2nd is in trucks and the 11th is a training unit) but why isn't the 3rd ACR there? The 1st Cav is the most tank heavy division we have and played a big role last time, why isn't it there?

Even if the whole Iraqi regular army surrenders, we can at least expect the 7 republican guard divisions and the 4 mech brigades of the special republican guards to fight. The Marines and Brits together have about a division's worth of tanks, and the 101st has its Apaches, but there is no replacing the Abrams as the King of the Desert.

Thoughts?
