Homework:

(Local) I'm feeling testchy today since we have our second exam in the Physics class on Relatavity on Monday. Vectors, Lorentz transforms, 4-vector matrices and tensors, transformed magnetic and electricl fields at .9c, etc. Messy stuff. The varients and covarients (and their inverses) are tricky though.

(Since I'll be in San Francisco all next week, I was thinkin' maybe I could get out of it for a week, but noooooooooooooooooooooo, I'm gonna take it Monday night after he faxes it to the conference fax machine.)

THe Maha Rushie, like so many of us is getting more than a little tetchy with all this diplomacy shiite.

"For instance, I'm deluged with these e-mails on this absurd Exxon-Mobil boycott to supposedly bring down costs at the pump. It's just too absurd for words. If your objective is to drive down gasoline prices, you know how you do it? Get on with this liberation of Iraq. If you want to get your job back and return to a semblance of normalcy, then let's get on with this. If you're sick and tired of hearing from Bill Clinton, Tom Daschle, Dominique de Villepin, Kofi Annan and Janeane Garafalo, then let's get on with this. Let's just do it. This isn't a lust for war. It's knowing that every day we waste means more deaths later. We have to move."

Well, I have some cheerful news for the boys in our class: You may have to scratch the Dixie Chicks off your list, but it looks like Chelsea may be back on the market. There's always hope, guys.

Oh, and by the way, have I mentioned that Friday exams make me extremely tetchy?

Yes, I do mean tetchier than normal.

Do you think they are getting just a bit tetchy about all the jokes?

     THE BUNNY AND THE SNAKE

Once upon a time (allegedly) in a nice little forest, there lived an orphaned bunny and an orphaned snake. By a surprising coincidence, both were blind from birth.

One day, the bunny was hopping through the forest, and the snake was slithering through the forest, when the bunny tripped over the snake and fell down. This, of course, knocked the snake about quite a bit.

"Oh, my," said the bunny, "I'm terribly sorry. I didn't mean to hurt you. I've been blind since birth, so, I can't see where I'm going. In fact, since I'm also an orphan, I don't even know what I am."

"It's quite OK," replied the snake. "Actually, my story is much the same as yours. I, too, have been blind since birth, and also never knew my mother.

Tell you what, maybe I could slither all over you, and work out what you are, so at least you'll have that going for you."

"Oh, that would be wonderful" replied the bunny. So the snake slithered all over the bunny, and said, "Well, you're covered with soft fur; you have really long ears; your nose twitches; and you have a soft cottony tail. I'd say that you must be a bunny rabbit."

"Oh, thank you! Thank you," cried the bunny, in obvious excitement. The bunny suggested to the snake, "Maybe I could feel you all over with my paw, and help you the same way that you've helped me."

So the bunny felt the snake all over, and remarked, "Well, you're smooth and slippery, and you have a forked tongue, no backbone and no balls.

I'd say ou must be French".
