Posted on 03/13/2003 12:31:29 AM PST by Bella_Bru
In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of word for the day. Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the word of the day; in a sentence. The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day. The Review threads are linked for your edification. ;-) Practice makes perfect.....post on....
tetchy\TECH-ee\, adjective:
Peevish; testy; irritable.
Etymology: Tetchy probably comes from Middle English tecche, "a bad habit," from Old French tache, teche, "a spot, stain, blemish, habit, vice."

Maybe Ian sat up in a cold sweat, breathing heavy and startled from a dead sleep. Somewhere in his dreamland mind he had the horrible revalation:
"If this continues Hillary will be my Mother-in-Law"

Ya'll should check
this out - it's heart-warming to see a poll worded so favorably for a change.

Well wait a minute. I can understand how the guy could be blinded by merely being in the presence of Chelsea's beauty and not seeing the complete picture right away.

The day those images do not disturb me greatly is the day I beg of you to put a bullet in my head.

I used to be stationed just up the road from there in Abilene Texas. That sort of thing went on at all bases.

can i rant, please? Articles like
these get on my last nerve. TV shows like sex in the city do not represent reality on ANY planet (not that i have seen an entire episode. i saw a snippet of one in a hotel room once and it had to do with fellatio, so i get the gist of the genre). yet you will have males on these threads, acting like all women in their 30s are that way, destined to be childless hags. i do not, nor have i EVER, known women like that. i got married at age 29, we were in law school at the same time, took the bar exam at the same time (i am sure i outscored him by a zillion points) and had kids at the same time (luckily we were married first). most everyone i know married later in life, after grad school, and have kids the same age as mine (even in our dotage). you do not have to get married at age 24, as a woman, in order to find a man and have children. it's a bunch of BS.
