Some historical inaccuracies in the story and photo: 1) The dominant language(s) in Palestine at the time of Jesus were Aramaic and Greek, NOT Latin. 2) The cross used in the crucifixion had two separate parts. The vertical piece remained in the ground for repeated use; the condemned person carried only the horizontal piece; once pinned or tied to the horizontal piece, the person was lifted onto the vertical piece by two soldiers.
