North Carolina Speedway- Rockingham,NC A joint venture between Darlington Raceway builder Harold Brasington and landowner Bill Land, North Carolina Speedway's first race was held in 1965. Over time, the track came under control of L.G. DeWitt, a local trucking company executive who supervised reshaping the original flat mile track into the present, banked 1.017-mile oval in 1969.

Busch was running side-by-side but couldn't get the lead.

It's the engines IMHO. Nobody's losing enough speed in the corners.

I started with Bob Stanley's setup and worked it from there.
I worked on a wualifying setup last night and got a 23.417 lap. So far that's the best I've got for "The Rock".
BTW- Rumor has it that Dave Blaney based his real life qualifying setup on Bob Stanley's. Don't know if you know this, but he is a big part of the online racing community and also worked on Nascar 2003.

err wualifying=qualifying :)

Yes there is, but not what I really wanted. Off road at Apex, just past the RR underpass. Road is not too bad - had to use 4x4 only twice - but you do need a vehicle with some clearance. Road follows the tracks all the way down to 215. Right before you hit 215 there is an access road for the pipeline construction project going over the RR tracks. This road comes out at the light on 215, right next to the USA (?) Guard or Reserve outfit. I just ran this about two hours ago.
I really wanted a road that ran more westerly from I-15 but they really have things torn up - another pipeline project following the powerlines that run east / west.

After using JPRacer's setups in 2002, I've decided to do my own. I haven't done much on the Rock yet (saving that for this week :-) , but I doubt I'll get quite to 23.4 (I've got a pair of depleted uranium feet).
I know of Manuel's (speedmd) work on 2003. Didn't know about Blaney's work though.

I guess Rusty didn't have a long green run setup. He fell to 3rd for a while but got back past Martin.

I used JP Racer's last year as well.
I may be wrong about Blaney. I thought he wrote the Jasper notes on the CD. I thought I read that Blaney did beta testing. Was it speedmd that wrote the notes and beta tested too? If so, my mistake. :)

Rusty just got loose. He's hanging on until he can pit.
Green-flag pit stops are starting at the back of the field. Your running order...Busch, Craven, Jarrett, Wallace, Blaney

It was speed that did the beta testing.
