Leaks are a serious pain in the a$$....so glad your roofer arrived and hope it is entirely fixed.
Sounds like you are into some serious and fun changes there. They should be a lot more enjoyable than your roof.....
Are you altering the landscape and gardens too?

Yes, there is a lot of work to do in the yard. The "grass" in the back needs to be replaced, and I've already had the yard maintenance crew yank out 3 trees (2 of them were right next to the north wall) and some bamboo that was also right next the front wall, and spreading everywhere. I need to do some designing in the back, and bought Sunset's Western landscaping book and some graph paper. On the south side of the house is a jungle of rose bushes. They need to be reduced in number, along with the number of trees planted on that side. The previous owners apparantly just shoved stuff into the ground with no thought for design and growth of what they planted. This will no doubt take me quite awhile. There really is a lot to do.
