Did anyone else notice that on the morning of 9/11/01, both Katie Couric and George Snuffleupagus made comments (on NBC and ABC respectively) stating that Flight 800 was shot down by terrorists? What was up with that? No one "corrected" them or anything, either. They just stated it as fact as an aside in their commentary.

No, they did not make such comments. Have reviewed tapes of both broadcasts. This is just more urban legend, such as pervades this entire matter.

In most cases like this, it's simply people who have piled rumors on top of rumors to then sell some ham handed "book" and make moeny of someone's tragety.
