Campo suffered through his third consecutive 5-11 season this year, the season ending with Sunday's 20-14 loss to the Redskins, which left his three-year head coaching record at 15-33. "He wasn't bringing them along fast enough ..."

Is Jerry Jones going to make himself the new head coach?

Has anybody heard the nasty rumor that li'l Simms wants to go to the Cowgirls if Parcells (daddy's coach?) steps up to Jerry's throne? That would just about kill the 'Boys for the next decade.

My scenario had Parcells using Jones to merely let out the word that was available and recieving suitors.
I think he really wanted to get back to the Giants (young super-stud TE, two young quality corners and safety, solid D line, a good ground game, and serviceable QB), and if they had lost to Philly, that door may have opened.

Pleeeeeze don't consider hiring Dennis Green.
Zimmer, Wilson, and Avazzano are keepers. Coslet has to go.

Trying to imagine how a REAL head coach with BackBone will work for Jerry Jones. Until someone comes along with enough fortitude to tell JJ to go upstairs and watch the game from his luxury box and keep his mouth shut and stay out of the locker room, the Cowboys will be missing the play-offs.

Watching the HBO specials on the Cowboys training camp you could see why Jones stuck with Campo for three years. Jones was clearly the Head Coach and GM , while Campo was (at best) an Assistant Head Coach/court jester. I just can't see Parcells in Dallas: the first time Jerry forcefully expresses his opinion in training camp, and Bill tells him how full of "it" his opinion truly is, the deal will be off.

I can't imagine Parcells going to the Cowboys but anything is possible I guess. Jerry Jones has a bad reputation for being a micro-manager and trying to be a football guy when he isn't. I can't see Parcells getting himself into that situation.

Beat me to it!
I was a Cowboy's fan from the time they drafted Roger Staubach until Tom Landry was fired by Jones. That one act showed me how classless he was and I did not want to have anything to do with the team as long as Jones was associated with it.

"Zimmer, Wilson, and Avazzano are keepers. Coslet has to go." They all must go.
Zim's defense had an amazing ability to surrender a touchdown on almost every possession after the woeful Cowboys offense scored one.
The special teams were the worst in the history of Avezzano's career.
The quarterbacks seemed to regress the more they were exposed to Wilson.
Coslet must go. Period.
I say clean house of the Jimmy Johnson rejects, all of the good ones were taken long ago, Wandstadt, Davis, Turner, Wise, et al, and let the new guy bring in a fresh crew and start again.

I thought Jimmy Johnson was a great coach, but Landry was a great coach and a man of character. The powers that be even named a stretch of I-30 between Dallas and Fort Worth after him.

The problem IS Jerry Jones. The best Coach he hired for the Cowboys (Jimmy Johnson) he let go after he won two Superbowls. So he rewards Johnson by firing the guy because he thought that HE could do as well making the calls using some lackey/coach.
