The editing - the flipping back and forth - was easier to cope with the second time around. The first time, I did think I was going to get whiplash!

I actually thought they did a fantastic job of weaving the three journeys together. (Does this make me odd? LOL) In the book, Tolkien frustrated me no end on how long I had to wait between updates (going through a few chapters till the next update on each group). I had to write the names of who was in each chapter, under the chapter titles, so I could find out who was where when flipping back -- I'd forget by the time I got to the uptake of the story line for each group. But the movie kept us abreast in more of a real-time sense.
I bought the Visual Companion book for TTT and love it. (Figured it would help ease the withdrawal till the DVD comes out ... next summer.)
