Patrick Stewart needs a hug.... (he's a little bitter)

Ananova:
Patrick Stewart disappointed with fans' response to Star Trek

Patrick Stewart says he is disappointed Star Trek: Nemesis hasn't been as big at the box office as Lord Of The Rings and Harry Potter.

He says he thought fans would have responded to the theme of the film more positively.

And he adds the increasing use of digital technology in films such as Lord Of The Rings has made him disenchanted with movies.

"I would have expected a more positive response to the theme of our film," he told the Berliner Zeitung newspaper.

"This may be because the real world has become too dangerous for us.

"Middle Earth or Hogwarts seem to be more attractive and more comforting in these times."

"As a child, I believed what was happening on the screen with all my heart. Today, I watch Lord of the Rings and I know these armies don't exist."

~Oh yeah Patrick.... there is nothing to believe in LoTR.... Star Trek is much more "real".

(((Patrick Stewart)))

There, there. Go sit down and pretend to play your penny whistle before this mean, cruel, nasty dangerous world tries to hurt you. *comforting pat on the shoulder*

As I walk to the door, I mumble...What a loser! What a maroon! He needs to beam himself to "Cry Me A River" land and never return. I can practically hear the violins and they ain't playin' the theme of Rohan, that's certain. What a pantywaist!

Yeah, and X men sucked, too.

"Middle Earth or Hogwarts seem to be more attractive and more comforting in these times."

What is he talking about, the free peoples of Middle Earth faced an overwhelmingly powerful evil that was bent on their domination and destruction. They faced it, against all odds, with fear and determination, to the best of their ability. It's inspiring, that's one reason why it resonates with folks.

I've enjoyed Patrick Stewart, sometimes I wish these people could keep their traps buttoned.
