Yep, I've heard the same thing. People who have already seen it saying they can't believe it's not rated R. I'll just have to see. He can stand some violence, but I never allowed him to watch the decapitations or Boromir getting shot. I thought he might find it too disturbing. So if the movie is chock full of this kind of stuff...it won't be worth buying him a ticket if I'm constantly covering his eyes!
