It's kind of disturbing to read about how the guys are kept away from everybody/thing. Maybe it was only for that event.

I wonder how much this kind of seclusion goes on in their real lives?

I didn't get the feeling there was that much seclusion, if you recall, Elijah and Sean just 'showed up' in the line at the premier of Attack of the Clones, and Sean Astin had a limo drop he and his family off and picked them up again at that Portland thing I went to, but there was not extraordinary security around him and his family... I think the bouncers that kept people from following him out the back were regular theater staff - high school kids.

I think it is just events like this that are so big and so packed with people most likely to mob them, perhaps (14 year old girls).... Even the people running the Con didn't like the disruption of them just 'wandering around'.

Probably so... this was the San Diego ComicCon, and that's the biggest annual comics/gaming/media con in the country. There were probably several thousand fan people attending, with a lot of them on the gaming floor or nearby. You can imagine the stir of a couple of thousand fanboys and fangirls all turning around to watch Frodo fleeing from security guards... and then all of them moving to get a closer look. Could have been a big mess... wish I'd been there.

The knives (for the troops) have arrived!!! Super-fast service from Smokey Mountain, and it was just their "regular" delivery mode.

The good news is, these pocketknives are nice. The bad news is, there will be NO room for any engraving except for a URL. I'm making an executive decision, and will take two samples to the engraver for a test, one laser, one regular. I'll post pictures of the results when I get back.

Basically, the manufacturer used the entire back side of the blade for "advertising", along with a large logo on the front. Those are laser engraved, too. The only available space is on the frame, or a part of the front of the blade. You folks can vote on the results when I post the pictures.

Just thought I'd keep you informed of "breaking news".
