That's a good idea, actually. In the original AoE the computer opponents automatically team up against you, which is a real pain. Playing with only one opponent keeps things even, anyway.

I wish there was a way to make them be allies! I want to try playing with my brother on-line, at some point, but we had trouble because he has v1.0a and I have 1.0b, and they wouldn't talk to one another. I think I could fight him off a lot more easily than the computer folks.
