Heh.... I was picturing my whole pasture burning, even though it is so overgrazed right now there is little to burn.... but that fire was SO hot I couldn't get near it to put out the grass, so I let it burn a patch, if the wind would have picked up, it would have gotten away from me.
Burning my horses up would be a bad thing.

I burn my feed sacks right out side the feed room. It never seems to fail as soon as I get a pile of them burning the wind comes up and blows hot ashes all over the place. Our place is so mowed or grazed I don't worry, but I worry about the property ("A Boy Named Sue" just came on the radio, smiling big:), next door. Luckly no one has built there yet.
