Here is a thought for when you get ready to begin out Two Towers reading again. How about skipping between books three and four?

You know, cover chapters one & two of book three (The Departure of Boromir and The Riders of Rohan) and then start alternating chapters between books three and four. That way we don't have to wait so long to talk about Sam and Frodo.

That sounds like a cool idea to me. It has always frustrated me to follow Sam, Merry, Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli for so long and then suddenly skip to Sam and Frodo. Then we hear nothing back from the first group until we start Book 5. Ugh.
