Bay also came to me with the habit of wanting a face rub after taking the bridle off.... I let him get away with that one... In fact, at his age I give him quite a bit of latitude to do some things his way. He likes to stop to poop, I think that is the least I can do. I guess most trail riders give their horse that dignity, I guess it really only mattered that they keep pace when I was showing.

Yeah, I let them stop to poop. But the head rubbing can be very annoying. The minute I reach up to take the head stall he swings his head over and about knocks me down or hits my face, I haven't figured out how to correct him, I hate slapping a horse in the face or around the head, then you land up with the exact oppisite problem, head shy., right now I am just stepping away from him when he starts, and don't take anything off till he stands still, but it doesn't seem to be working, he's pretty bad about it...any other suggestions??
