Hobbits are sturdy creatures, but needless tossing may damage their more "sensitive" parts.
While we were protesting on Thursday a young lady who is a senior at Ardmore High School came to the Holiday Inn because she is interested in her government class at school and just wanted to shake hands with a legislator. She went into the Holiday Inn but of course the personnel refused to allow her into the areas where the legislators were gathered - around pool etc.
The young lady wandered back into the parking lot where we were protesting. That was the day that Myranda was with me. Being a very friendly high school senior herself Myranda went up and started talking to the girl. There were a few young republicans from North Texas at the protest also and they all talked. This young lady did not want to join the protest because she had not made up her mind which way her political compass was going. But, she stayed with us for a couple of hours.
During the afternoon when events were slowing down and the press had little to do they began to come over and interview us. We told a lady with a TV station out of Dallas about this girl. So, this reporter put a mike on the girl and the reporter and a cameraman followed her back into the Holiday Inn. The reported with her press credentials was able to go right to the door of the conference room. The reporter had the girl knock on the door. When answered the girl explained why she was there, that she only wanted to shake hands with a legislator. She and the cameraman could see people in the room. She said the guy at the door was a goon. The goon told her to wait, closed the door and the group waited 5 mintes before the door opened again.
When the goon came back to the door, the girl was told roughly that everybody in that room was very busy and NO ONE had time to come and meet her.
All this was captured on camera. If any of you that I pinged live in the DFW area you may have seen it on the news. I was wishing I could see it but don't live there.
Now, for the update. I just got word from freeper RoseD in Ardmore that a Texas legislator is looking for the girl so he can fly her to Austin for the day. So, now, I'm waiting for Myranda to get out of school because she's the one that got the girls phone number and email.
Hopefully, we hear more about this on the news. And it would be real nice if we could get some freepers in Austin to go see this. I don't know who the Austin Freepers are but I know some of you do so could you ping them to this?
