That gives me hope since otherwise they spend more time annoying the heck out of each other.

I have 2 brothers. One, I spent my childhood trying to kill. And he spent his childhood trying to kill me. For the past 25 years, we are closer than any brother and sister I know. (And his wife is one of my closest and most trusted friends.)

My other brother - we didn't have as much to do with one another as kids. Now, it's really hard to know him. And he's a nice guy and all, not all shut up about relationship etc. But, there's just not that bond.

So, my bet is always that those kids annoying one another, end up having closer adult relationships.

Yeah I think that's true. My brother is 7 years older than me. My sister is 5 years older. I had a pretty close relationship with my sister, but not so much with my brother. We didn't hate each other, but I know I really annoyed him sometimes. You know, little sister adoring older brother who doesn't want a little pest around. But we are really close now and have a great friendship.

Well...I had one brother who I spent my childhood arguing with. I STILL spend most of our time together arguing and trying to keep from smacking him. That's neither here nor there, I guess! However, the brother that I was closest to is no longer as close. Nothing big...we just don't have much in common anymore.

The really cool part is that I'm now really close to the siblings who were just too little to do much with until now. I'm probably closest to my brother who's now 18 than to any of the others. Since he's eight years younger than me, I really didn't do much with him when we were little. Same with my sixteen year old sister - we hang out together all the time, and have a ball! Of course, most people never guess that we're ten years apart. We both get a kick out of that at times...though usually I'm also a bit ticked because people usually think I'm wayyy younger than I am.
