Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Welcome Back!
To: ican'tbelieveit
I usually take a simple snack food to munch on the way. Something salty, but not distracting from your driving.Yes, distraction is a problem, with the cell phone in one hand and the latte in the other, snacks have to be easy to eat! ;~D
Saw this as someone's sig on a message board. What's going on when this part comes up?
'I couldn't find you.'
'Well, you have now, Sam, dear Sam,' said Frodo, and he lay back in Sam's gentle arms, closing his eyes, like a child at rest when night-fears are driven away by some loved voice or hand.-The Return of the King

Isn't that after Shelob when Sam realizes Frodo is still alive, but the orcs have him?
To: Corin Stormhands
HAHAHAHA! That is a funny joke.... sending it to my dad!
To: Corin Stormhands
Yes, that's when they are up in the tower. Sam has found Frodo, after hearing him singing in reply...then finds him absolutely naked with his skin glowing red in the light of the fire.
I don't know if Hair is going to be able to live through it.

The ...er.... "Entmoot" is not happening for a whole year!

Thank you.... good to be back! - I am tired and cranky from too much human interaction! I may not leave here for a few days!

Good. I thought this year was rather short notice. :^)

Thanks.
I don't know how I'll last until December.

I don't know if Hair is going to be able to live through it. Who amongst us will?

Wow, look at all those sixes!
I'm at my parents house...waiting for my brother to get in from Midland...the weather is supposed to get bad, so we're just going to spend the night. It'll be fun. The boys and I will get to be upstairs. There is a computer up here (with cable) and a cable TV!
Steve won't get in till late...so he'll have the house to himself when he gets in!

I don't know how I'll last until December. 1. Read the books!
2. Stay here with us!

I don't know if Hair is going to be able to live through it. The near-dead-then-captured part or the naked-in-the-firelight part? ;~D

The combination! ;-)

Sounds like fun. Keep warm.
We're not supposed to get our snow until tomorrow night.
I'm out of here for now. Choir practice tonite. I may be back on later.
To: Corin Stormhands
:-) Yep, that sure will help!
I started FOTR the other day. I'm just at the part where the words appeared on the ring. I'm really loving it. I don't know why I never read it before!
To: 2Jedismom
I bet they don't show the tatoo! ;~\

I can't tell you how much I envy people reading it for the first time! What a treat you're in for! Whatever you do, don't flip ahead like I idiotically did 33 years ago...

OH MY GOSHI was doing some Googling for "return of the king trailer" trying to find out when it was going to be put at the end of TTT when I stumbled upon this. I haven't heard this before. How cool would this be?!?
Monday 2nd December 2002: Lord Of The Rings: Return of the King Update:
Rumours are circulating that the final part of the Lord of the Rings trilogy will be released on IMAX when it is released in December of 2004. Peter Jackson has been quoted of an IMAX showing as "This is the way I dreamt my movie would be shown." IMAX would have to put an intermission into the movie as IMAX can only carry two hours of film at one go.
