The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Posted on 12/17/2002 7:32:02 AM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Journey to the Cross-roads

The Two Towers Edition

Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)

Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

I think I'll pick up some nice thick steaks along with the bread, milk, and cat food.

Well, what you serve with it is up to you, but I think you might prefer a baked potato or a nice salad...

That sounds like the one on 92nd. There's a sub place in the same plaza.

That one is better than the one on 117th. :)

I've got a friend who wants to put some of my words to music... I dunno how I feel about that...

NO is a word in your vocabulary - right?

Good afternoon... I don't think it's very good

Me neither. I feel terrible. When I went home for lunch I crawled under my comforter and just enjoyed my cookies. Well, enjoy is not a good word right now. I don't feel good.

...me sitting there being the square peg that I am, wondering at all these ladies complaining about burn-out and not understanding or even fitting in

Story of me typically trying to fit into church ladies groups. LOL It's tough sometimes.

We overheard one of the women say "I couldn't order that. That would be too much red meat!"

Another reason for me to stay in Texas. I don't particularly want there to be any kind of meat besides red meat. If it's red - it's real.

Hullo all! Back from the helping with horses, now waiting for the Dell Dude to get here. I am trying to get enough printing done that I have something to do while he has my computer down. Heh.... Probably take him 5 minutes! Well, I still have a mountain to do, even after working last night. 6 books done, 14 to go!

Lord help me, I'm in 9 kinds of trouble. I went to Kohls and bought all the rest of those Converse sneakers...all of them that they had. All of them either fit the boys now or will...Joshua is set for years. They sell for $39 at the only place I could find them, Journey's, and they aren't even made in the USA anymore...Converse sold out and they are being made by an Asian country now...don't know which. Anyway, these pairs I bought all say "Made in the USA" on the interior and on the box.

I got them for $7 a pair. I bought 11 pairs.

Steve is going to kill me, but I figure what the boys don't wear I can sell on Ebay...I could at least get my money back and I bet double it.

HEY! That sounds like a great deal to me!!! I'd have done the same thing!!! You can't get in trouble for being a smart shopper can you?

Well, at least, you can tell him that's what I thought.
