The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Tons o' questions:
So we are just posting until the end to see what happens? Will we lose all the posts? When will the new place be ready?
And on a totally different topic...this Ent-moot thing. Is it too late for people to join? What are the details again? Is there a specific post to go back to? How much $ is needed? What about the snorers?

Good morning everyone!
I bathed that puppy last night and gave him a couple of cans of Pedigree Choice Cuts with Veggies...he loved it, and not the least bit food aggressive either. Good boy!
I'm keeping myself cheery because the sad reality is that he will be put down today, simply for being what he is. It's so unfair! But I take comfort in knowing his final day was filled with love, food and fun. He even slept in my bed last night (prolly the only bed he's ever slept on). He snored like you wouldn't believe! LOL!
He did wet the bed just a little, but I couldn't scold him because he did it while sleeping. He apparently had a terrible nightmare and wet himself before he could wake up. I cleaned him up and let him out where he finished his business like a proper little dog should.
I've called him "Bo" because every dog deserves a name by which to be remembered by. God speed Bo. See you when I get to those Pearly Gates one day! Three cheers through tears for you!
*snif* I'm so melancholy about our Hole's upcoming end. Here to serve what is one of the last breakfasts before implosion. :)

My husband finally took time to email me the pics here at work yesterday. I had a doctor appt. yest. morning though, and my BP was way up. They made me stay there and take a pill to bring it down. It came down a little and they let me go home, but the pill, whatever it was, made me a bit zonked-out so I just went to bed. I'll send a pic to you that shows the fold, Hair.
I think SuziQ had already done some of the back taping support Frodo, I just reinforced them some.

It'll reach that goal a lot faster, now that the announcement was posted in "news".Not anymore, my post was banished to chat.

A party of special magnificence! Well, we're taking the HH's message count to the max, and then we get to open up a brand new one. "65535" fits into 16 bits, and is probably the counter, with a pointer attached, pointing to the latest post. I don't know about how this software works, but going one above 65535 will either zero out the field, or the high-order bit will clobber some field next to it. In either case, it's not good. The software may handle that problem gracefully, or it may require manual intervention before that happens.
Of course, the software may use one or several of those "slots" pointed to by that 16-bit field for internal use. Thus the actual number to cause meltdown may be a bit less than 65535.

But it's a little disconcerting to be here alone and run to answer the phone and see him standing there...I know what you mean, hah.
I'm not sure markers are the right approach. I think they might bleed too much. Suzi mentioned some acrylic paints
Yes, that is why I would choose crayons. You could blend colors that could be matched almost exactly, and they would add some water-barrier effect, and would give a slight sheen to the paper like the other surface sheen. I don't know.

In the last 2 weeks these are some of the items that the Hobbit Hole Dwellers have shipped to US troops in Baghdad. This goes to a platoon in the 1st Armored Division. Before the 1st Armored Division we were sending lots of stuff to the 82nd Airborne in Kandahar, Afghanistan!

You know I sent that box to Iraq to my friend from church a week or so ago? He CAME HOME! I doubt he even got it. If so, I'm going to ask him if he doesn't want some of the items to give them back and I'll send them on to you! LOL I'm not proud. He can keep what he wants.
(I'm hoping it'll just be returned to me, though...in which case I will forward it on to you.)

You simply must be at entmoot darling. We've been counting on you. Forget snorers. All the dwarves do that you know and we're just not going to have enough time to sleep anyway. Besides, do us elves really need sleep? IT IS certainly NOT too late! And ksen has the money news. So far it's been $55/person that we've sent but there will be another $200 soon. And then we've got to split the deposit as well but it will be returned unless we burn the place down, that will be another $200. But, that's later. And of course we could never each rent rooms down there for days for that total amount!

Uh oh, John will it cause a problem when we hit 65,535? Do you know what will happen?

I already sent all the Arby's sauce. I got 12 packets to send today. I almost hate to send only 12 because they've got 22 guys in the platoon.

Well, if Tom gets sent back I plan to get him to provide me with another name of someone with the same heart for sharing that he's got. Not necesarily for the Hobbit Hole to provide for, but because I really feel like this is a great outlet for me to express my appreciation to someone. See, I can say that here. Cause I know everybody "gets it."
