Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Sounds good to me!!! I will send you my email!! Whereabouts in Austin do you live? Had a good friend who used to live in Pflugerville. We are 'semi-' familiar with Austin, although all throughout college I was more familiar with San Marcos than Austin.

Yes, yes, we got there at 6:30 for the 7:00 show and they were already sold out. So we went over to the Texspresso and imbibed in small demitasses of Entwash with a couple of sugar cubes to kill the time. (By gosh, we were there, and we were gonna see it one way or another) Luckily, I had in my purse 2 decks of the trading game cards and a copy of Return of the King, for our enjoyment.
My niece and my daughter live in Austin. I live south along the coast. We used to live in Austin though, and we got out 12 years ago, just in time. You should string up all of the city managers until they drop for parts. I think about that every time I try to drive around in Austin. The place is insane! People shouldn't have to live like that.
You know, when I left they were working that construction on Ben White!

I've got some catching up to do here at work, so I'll be back in a bit.
In the meantime, I've slapped together some Italian subs for everyone, along with some potato salad. Extra fixings are on the table on a covered platter. Wneighbor's chips and salsa would go wonderfully with everything, so hopefully, that will fill you all up. :)
I went to Office Depot to get some more toner for the Laserjet printer here at work and guess what? WRONG STINKING ONE! ARRRRGGHH!

Yeah, we discussed that a bit. Of all times to move from AZ to MN, you had to pick mid-January?? I mean...I like winter and all, but...? ;-)

Sounds like you had fun, even if you did miss the first showing! We ordered our tickets in advance at the
Alamo Drafthouse website... The Two Towers showings have been selling out quite regularly! By the way, do you play the LOTR trading card game?
I moved to Austin 13 years ago, just when they were starting work on US183. As we've moved further out of town, the construction has moved to keep up with us! Needless to say, we avoid the downtown area as much as possible.
