The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Ha! I never knew that...I thought whenever you were talking about the religious threads, I thought that was the one you were referring to! No kidding!
Humph! Shows how much I know about them.

I'm one of those moms who sits and frets when she does her tricks. I understand. I have a 14-year-old football player who doesn't understand that working out and getting into shape will reduce his chance of injury.
Last year he broke a toe at a pool party right after practice started. During the season he sprained an ankle and then broke a finger.

She's not much of a reader. (I was flabbergasted when she read LotR.) She can't sit still long enough to read much. But she is going to have some time on her hands now. I'll look at it when I go to the bookstore and see if I think she could handle it.
Thanks for the suggestion!

Ooohhhh, I know what you're Pastor needs to start preaching on..... Does the text "Choose this day whom you will serve..." mean anything to you?
To: 2Jedismom
Shows how much I know about them. Consider that a blessing from above!

Well, I am one of those daughters that convinced my parents to let me have horses and skiing and all kinds of activities that could kill me! The best-lived lives are those that took chances and learned which fears are real and which ones just give you that rush when you overcome them. Sometimes you have to let them have their 2 minutes of wonderful... They could be careful their whole life and still get hit by a truck.
To: RMDupree
Thanks to you, too. She doesn't want me to call and tell her children's pastor. She wants to surprise her on Sunday. Read that to mean that she wants a lot of attention at church. LOL

Nothing wrong with wanting a little attention after such an injury especially at that age. :)

I would highly recommend SeaBiscuit as an injury-recovery book.Speaking of which, made any more progress lately? I admit I haven't had much time for reading lately, what with the backgammon and all. I got Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban to keep me busy till you catch me up, though.

Loyalty is a higher virtue than honesty.Yep, and I showed my loyalty by remaining true even deep inside enemy territory. ;^)

Joshua just called me to the bathroom...apparently a huge bubble miraculously appeared in the bottom of the sink while he was washing his hands. I mean it was indeed a HUGE bubble.
So both boys and I are peering at this big bubble in the bathroom sink. I commented "That big bubble kinda looks like Dad, but don't tell him that!" Got howls of laughter and am pretty well assured Steve will be informed.
LOL!!!

No - not reading as much as I should! - I have been too pensive! :~D
I plan on it today though.

Does the text "Choose this day whom you will serve..." mean anything to you?Yep, and in true Dwarven fashion I loudly and proudly proclaimed my adherence to the Hobbit Hole.

You are right, of course. But I spent my childhood curled up with books. It is difficult for me to understand the mindset. I was all set to raise a quiet child (Mini-Me). God gave me this beautiful, wonderful daughter who continuously teaches me about life.

Well, thanks everyone. You've managed to give me the lift I needed to continue the day. Much work to do and a child to care for.
The SeaBisquit movie sound like a great idea!
