The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

WN; didn't find anything really cool plant-wise but a few we had to key out. They rarely seem to look just like they do in the ID books.Don't you just hate that? But isn't it fun to search and try to ID?
Dang, there's a lot of plants out there. :-)
And don't you just love that part of it?

mmmmmmm....homebrew....
To: Wneighbor
That's pretty darn cool.

I'm stuck with a psycho dog. Why is it the kid leaves and I'm stuck with the canine drama queen? The only positive thing I can say is that the dog costs me less than the kid.

That's pretty darn cool. So, you think you could get by with puttin' in a freight car someplace instead of rentin' this midweek pirate pad?

Psycho dogs are not to be underestimated. They have a power beyond their small size to wreak havoc across civilization.
To: Ramius
Don't I know it.
I must not be livin' right or I wouldn't have to deal with this one.

Becky is working on my last nerve. She has received a spanking from both me and my mother tonight.
I don't understand it. She barely listens, she won't ever go to sleep, she has zero attention span, she's constantly doing bad/dangerous/stupid things and then saying she can't control herself...I'm at my wit's end with her. I can't stand having to continuously discipline her for the same things over and over and over and over. CALGON TAKE ME AWAY!

I could live in a freight car. Sure. Small problem with it's tendency to meander around the countryside, but sure... I'd give it a try.
Actually, a darn good alternative is to buy a boat to live on. Moorage anywhere close to the office is somewhat pricier than apartments though. Bummer that.
To: RMDupree
Lobotomies are still legal, I think.
To: ecurbh
Thanks Ecurbh, that worked, and was pretty easy, in the end.
BTW, your niece is beautiful.

I'm ready to do one on myself and then I won't have to worry about ever being annoyed again. ;)

Ramius; only 30 plus years too late for decorating advice in my case. Maybeee a CB 450, couch from a dump, two shotguns in the rack, an English Setter, a spool cable table and couple of footlockers wasn't 'swinging bachelor decor'.
The decor was much improved when we moved to the married side of the compound and LSA commenced her life's work of placing a thin veneer of civilization over this recalciterant crumedgon (who can't spell for beans)
:-)
To: RMDupree
That's the great part. It doesn't matter which of the parties you give one to. :-)
To: osagebowman
Instead of a bed I'm thinking maybe I'll just string a big hammock from lag screws on either wall...
Alright folks. I've got to get to bed. *YAWN*
See you all in the morning.
If I turn out the lights, Becky usually crashes quicker.

It's been said that women have a "civilizing" effect on men. Absolutely true. Exhibit A: Aftershave. :-)
