Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Honestly or not at all, master skivviless! You obviously haven't seen some of the spam-fests that they've had over there. It'd put Vim to shame!

You obviously haven't seen some of the spam-fests that they've had over there. It'd put Vim to shame! That is why I can de-value their accomplishment. I can scoff and pretend to be better than them.

Just a little, yes.

How many threads have they had? Are we still ahead in total thread count?
To: proud_2_B_texasgal
Unfortunately, there was just too much going on to try to hook up with ksen .. I thought about ya though!I thought about you too, but I'm glad you made home alright. That sure was a lot to deal with in such a short bit of time.
You said you stayed to west of 95 on/off of Malabar? That's about 6 miles from my house, further west up Jupiter and down Pace.

No, I don't think we are even close.... They had a huge thread long before the forum split.

How many threads have they had? Are we still ahead in total thread count? This is the third(?) thread of theirs on the new forum system. However back when threads were considered long at 150 posts or so they had about 150 threads. So I don't think there is any hope of catching them in total post count.
Am I close to accurate malakhi?

The Hobbit Hole IV - The Wedding Yeah, but do we keep Aragorn's friends or Arwen's friends?
To: ksen
Yes, our only hope for glory was gonna be that we were the first to implode.
We will always just be the runner up now!

I know you've told this story before, but can you tell it again?
Well, ok... for those of you who don't know, I was born and raised in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. My Rose was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas. We first met online, back in 1988. This was pre-Internet; we both subscribed to one of the few nationwide online services of that time, CompuServe. We met in one of the "special interest forums". Each forum on CIS (Compuserve Information Service, and there were many many forums) had both a message board and a chat room. Anyway, we got to know each other by responding to each other's messages and chatting online. Our friendship grew; we exchanged Christmas presents and talked on the phone for the first time during Christmas, 1988. In June 1989 she travelled up to the U.P. to visit in person (she was still in San Antonio at the time) and we had a great time (went on a cruise and everything). Had so much fun she missed her flight back and had to stay another day (cough cough!)
In August Rose moved to Austin for a new job, and I flew down here to visit her later that month. Then I flew down again in October. Finally, in December, I moved down here for good, arriving Dec. 30, 1989 (one of our anniversaries) and we've been together ever since.
Not conventional I guess, but it worked for us. ;)

(I'm going on vacation in FIVE days....) MBY, you should get Frodo in the mail today or tomorrow to make sure he gets there on 3-day!
To: RosieCotton
Good morning! I'm catching up gradually! ;)
