The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Posted on 12/17/2002 7:32:02 AM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Journey to the Cross-roads

The Two Towers Edition

Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)

Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

But, we wouldn't want any other impressionable young ladies to get the idea they can just wander off anywhere's talking to strange men.

Ummm, you wouldn't be calling anyone around here strange, would you?

The Hobbit Hole appears to have been taken over by nosy busybodies!

Heh, they're just jealous!

Boss gone, things looking fairly quiet so far.

Very good, I hope it stays quiet... I am sitting here reading, in-between trying to keep up with the conversation here without just saying "huh?"

You mentioned Rudy the other day... I haven't seen it, so I didn't recognize the music in that trailer... I think it is one I should buy and see eh?

Strange in this case being defined as men not of this thread. Strangers. Unknown to our neighborhood.

Did you see the names that I addressed that post to? And did you know one of 'em had a phone call the other night from a man not-of-the-Hobbit-Hole?

I didn't hear him mention Rudy the other day. How could I have missed that? I like that movie. Yes, you should see it.

I also like Remember the Titans.

I tell you, I just love these chickens!

Just now I went and turned off the water sprinkler and I leaned down where the girls are all underneath the bush by the well (must be extra cool there, since the pipes bring very cold water up). I said "There you go, ladies...no more well noise." They all gave me their "happy and contented" whistle! In response!

Benny Hen, my favorite buff orpi, will run RIGHT UP to me and get in my lap. She really loves me. Puffy, the other, is a real "chicken"...Jar Jar and Roy just take me for granted now.

Yes, Rudy is one of the greatest underdog films. Its a great inspiring story about how desire and determination can overcome seemingly insurmountable obstacles. Discostu wouldn't like it, though, because it expresses emotion.

Its got Sean Astin in it too!

You mean chicken as in foul bird? Or chicken as in scaredy cat?
