The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Don't worry 'bout the 67%. The elves would score higher than that...but they have a tendency to cheat on the tests...
Or in Elrond's case, make someone else take it for 'em.

[yawn] wow! - Bad day for me to sleep in!
I don't even know where to start! Where should I start to catch up?
To: Corin Stormhands
Oh my. I found a less snobby computer and earned a very elvish 65% snob rating. I think knowing what chukkas were ahead of time put me over the top.
I score much higher (80s) on the geek test.

I ought to get out a Christmas card and send it to that old friend today Sounds delightfully quirky. I'd do it.

Luckily we had a good locationWell I do have a good location. The room I'm painting needs painting....stripping the one wall of wallpaper held me back all these years. :) Real Estate Lady doesn't like my green office and I don't think she likes my mauve dining room. Living room is a very light green....they can just live with it or paint it themselves.
But next is the bathroom...more wallpaper to strip. *Sigh*
To: Wneighbor
But, I hate painting worse. It's those textured ceilings that I hate.

I got the "ping" this AM from all that going on about "The Hobbit Hole" in "The Smoky Back Room". So I posted this. I guess I will be flamed for spelling "Hobbit" wrong in it. I have rather bad eye-sight. Anyway felt I had to defend the "H Hole" and hope this was OK. The post is quoted below:
"I have been a "Freeper" since '99 and did not until recently, began to post in a regular manner. The reason being is the "flame wars" and the superior haughty attitude that I have seen in various threads. I had been on the "front lines" in this war since the early "80 when, at last , we had a pro-family, pro-life Republician Platform. I can tell you "war stories" that would cause alot of these "superior in their own mind, flamers" to run. It's taken some time to recover from "burn -out". I am on the mend now, but I think it is sad that the web site I felt that had the most positive influence in keeping in a conservative administation, was not one I felt comfortable posting on during this much needed recovery time. It's sad when soldiers shoot their own. The "Hobbitt Hole" was a place of refuge where you could be yourself and not worry about the "flaming". A place to laugh, to pray for one another, to do something to help our guys overseas and various politial needs. It's needed in a battle such as we are fighting. It's called "grace" and that is what "Lord Of The Rings" is about. I wish you grace, because without it, you will eventually become what you hate.

You done good. Hope the dentist is just a check-up.
To: Lil'freeper
Well, how about that. They changed the test (I took it ca. 1994 the first time)! I only scored 65.08876% "Geek God".
I will have to take it again and score better...
To: Corin Stormhands
34.91124% - Total Geek I got the female geek bonus points. Teehee!
To: Lil'freeper
My total geekiness killed the thread.
To: Lil'freeper
This might be a good time to hatch a plot for world domination.
To: Lil'freeper
Speaking of world domination, how many geek points would finding something like this cool be worth?
To: RosieCotton
LOL- I love it!

42% Snob...
I think predicting that the depubtant would puke down her dress did me in and set my course.

Hm. Eating salad with a spoon doesn't work very well. My last plastic fork snapped before I could use it, and I'm too lazy to go out to the grocery for other utensils.
Sigh.

Good Day All; the cart is packed and ponies are jingling in their harnesses. We are heading 'to the eastern lands' where the Missouri River flows into the Mississippi. A gathering of the clan to celebrate the upcoming nuptuals of our nephew. LSA will be doing a shower thingy with women folk, leaving the guys to make mischief on their own. Never fear there will be bows aplenty and cedar shafts winging their way to far distance targets. We'll see you all Sunday, Good Lord Willing.

My last plastic fork snapped before I could use it, and I'm too lazy to go out to the grocery for other utensils. Wow... Now so now you enter varsity bachelor living! - I think the right answer, at this point, is to stop eating salad, or anything that requires a utensil.
