The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Good morning. Raining again here. I was feeling guilty because I slept in instead of going for my walk, but when I got up it was pouring...so I guess I wouldn't have gone anyway. I half hope we get some BIG thunderstorms this afternoon or evening. Thunder and lightning is cool!
I stayed up too late. *yawn*
To: RosieCotton; Wneighbor
I love a good storm! We got one the other day and it knocked the temperature down to cool enough to mow, so I gotta go do that.
Wn...did you get some rain last night?? It looked like our storms were heading your way!

I agree! Thunder and lightening is cool. And I started walking this week but missed yesterday. I just couldn't convince myself to go out in the middle of the day with the temp at 106! Then I went to the county republican meeting and when I got home it was too late to walk. So, shame on me.
Wish we'd get some rain! That rain we had in the spring was a fluke. Freak of nature. It doesn't rain here.

Nope. 2J, we didn't get any. They got 'em just about 70 miles southeast of us. I'm sure that was MY rain! My maters wanted it.

Letter from the Chaplain!
Concerning being on Fox News...
"I got on camera a little with the guys from Fox News. They filmed at one of our services (which I was in the front row and it seemed like the camera man had the camera right in my face) and at a few other times as well. I heard that they are doing a story on the continued efforts in this country. Perhaps I'll get a few seconds of air time! The Renegade Chaplain is famous!(Ha, Ha!) As long as my Lord and my family are pleased, I'm good! Clay in His hands,

I MISS YOU GUYS!!!!
Another day where it looks like I won't have time to chit chat. :(
Besides the work I've got here in the office, I've got to take Alyson for her yearly checkup at 2pm and register Becky at the school right after that. *sigh* How I long for my easy days for yester-week!!!
I should find out today if they are keeping me through the end of August, instead of just July. That would be great since I could at least get Becky set up at school before starting a new job!! Here's hoping!
Let me get breakfast on the table and I'll see you guys later! Just because I'm not here, don't think I'm not thinking of you all.

I'm eating fried eggs with hot sauce and colby and then I'm going to mow.
That should make me good and sick...

Morning all. Rainy here today too.
Woke up (late) and realized the electrictiy was off. Always have that first attack of paranoia..."did I pay that bill?" Yes I did. Hopefully it won't be out long.

Morning everybody. Nice and sunny here so far... I wish I could go back to bed for a long, long time. Corin, time to start spamming... ;-)

Sounds like they gave you some Versed...it inhibits short term memory. You experience everything, but, depending on the dose, you remember very little from one minute to the next...and in my case, I didn't remember a thing.I guess I had Versed administered by an expert when I had my gastroscopy earlier this year. It was piggybacked onto a saline IV drip. I was curious as to how long it would take to knock me out. I remember watching the nurse open the Versed drip, and then hearing the doctor say, "all done". There was NO sensation of drifting off to sleep, or even of any time lost. It was an instantaneous jump from awake-to-awake, with no sensation of any "in between".
