Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

I'm off to Hastings as I did not make it there during the day.
And, I have to buy a birthday card for my favorite brother. I don't think he's going to get it in time. His birthday is tomorrow.

Oh, and news! I now have a digital video camera. Okay, actually Jr. has one less digital camera...at least for the next week.
Took him to Bible Study which is supposed to last an hour. I stayed in the parking lot because Luke was asleep in the van and it was storming pretty badly. So I read. Luke woke up after about 40 minutes and I was able to convince him that we'd just wait for Jr...only 20 more minutes.
However, Jr. had taken his camera because they wanted to film a movie. He came out 45 minutes late. I would've gone in after him except the building is HUGH and I didn't want to drag Luke out of his carseat.
This all could have been taken care of by a simple "Dad, we'd like to film a movie. Can you pick me up a little later..."
No, instead, Luke is now finishing up his snack (actually second dinner he wanted more muffins and broccoli) instead of having been asleep for the last hour.

Yes, I have an Epson 1270 photo printer. Makes prints good enough for framing. I have one hanging in my hallway, and people are always surprised when I tell them its an inkjet print.

I have had a really hard day. I am OK, nobody died, I wasn't fired, but I had to go to the doctor and get probed pretty thoroughly. You know, sometimes I think that the medical profession could heal us without all the invasive procedures, but they do it just for kicks.
If it helps any, imagine Corin (this was 12 years ago) lying flat on a metal table in the middle of a HUGH room, buck naked (with the other...um..."part" they didn't remove covered with a metal shell...) with 2 or more technicians glaring thru the window...I have no dignity left...
Okay, maybe that's a mental image you didn't need...

As I got up and got my keys I remembered I bought a box of cards a couple of months ago. Guess what? One of them worked just fine. It will be special. The post mark will be on his birthday.
