Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Well, I was on the rim of the Canyon right after college. That's when I bought the t-shirt that said "Hike the Grand Canyon."
That one was ruined when our apartment storage area flooded, but I had a friend replace it. Maybe it was a sign...

I sort of made that "mentioning" mistake back home one time. It was only for school board. And I ended not running because the divorce from Myranda's dad flew up in the way. But, at the time the local newspaper began referring to me as radical. Because the group I was affiliated with had a lower the school tax plan. Good plan too. But, since then, the radical part has stuck. That was 15 years ago.

I want to run for Gig Harbor City Council.... How's that one guy doing that wants to sell the farm GH wants for a park? I wouldn't mind running for council, either, but we're ineligible. Got to live in the city limits, which means of course downtown or wherever they're included a strip mall to get the tax revenue.
The park thing ended most unsatisfactorily. The guy had his land taken by the council for eminent domain. I gave D a huge ration of crap for that. The bastards.

They were only there for a portion of a week. Long enough to stop the redistricting from happening. Now, it's the Senate threatening. If someone doesn't actually take action to prevent them from ducking out, they will. And they talk about the GOP costing the taxpayers money!!!
