Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Casting Call for film in DFW I was gonna audition for a part in a local production of To Kill a Mockingbird. It's even a paid role. But then I found out it's a six week run.
No thanks. 19 shows at Christmas is more than enough. (and I'm still debating that for this year)

Laundry! I did that too. Am still doing it, actually. Will probably do more tomorrow. Jack the cattledog is very fond of laundry, it seems. He gets his jollys out of absconding with clothing and dragging it around the house. Sooooo cute.

Have you got a room?Heh, no, not yet. Just doing a quick check to make sure the work is all cleaned out first.
To: Lil'freeper
My dearly departed Aunt Alice made that quilt!

We think it is incredibly stupid and embarrassing to chickens even. Well, then we'll just have to dance it at Entmoot! (I can handle the chicken dance after a few adult entertainment beverages).
Have you seen the "Chicken Dance Elmo"? From what I can tell he doesn't sing the whole song. I'd be really po'd if anyone bought that for Luke.
Not because I want to hear the whole song, but because if he didn't finish it, I'd be finishing it in my head the rest of the day.

Yeah - the 'flap your hands like a beak' part has got me flummoxed. Hold both hands up to either side of your face and make a beak with your fingers (both hands).
To: ecurbh
Did you make that up? I'm gonna steal it for the wife to use in her literature class!
To: HairOfTheDog
Marvelous quilt. Definately a keeper.
Hasta pastas- see ya in the mornin'.
To: HairOfTheDog
did he have diarrhea or were they nice and firm? They were not "void and without form" but they weren't "regular" either...

Have you got a room? Dang ecurbh. A feller just don't get many invitations like that...
(Ramius, maybe you need to take lessons from ecurbh)
To: Corin Stormhands
No, I didn't make it up. I got it in an email.
To: HairOfTheDog; All
Okay, I'll check back in a few. Need to put Luke to bed.
I took him to King's Dominion this afternoon. He fell asleep in the Burger King drive thru on the way home. So he's just finishing up (if he's not asleep again in his high chair).

They were not "void and without form" but they weren't "regular" either... Hmmm.... well, can you be more specific? - perhaps photograph them? ;~D Draw me a picture?

I was just out talking to the old Norwegians I bought hay from
last year.... They just showed up at the gate, been baling all day, and wanted to know if I needed hay again. I am truly sorry I already bough enough, because these old guys are so nice! And care about returning customers! - rats! (the hay I bought this year was a little bit better though)
Was funny last year, because the guy on the phone said he would be bringing his son to help unload and stack three tons, so I just had one girlfriend come to help me buck bales. The guy gets out of the truck, he's 90 and his son is at least 70. Tough wiry old guys though! - We got it stacked, but Lisa and I climbed the stack to do the top rows.
