Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Step 3, 'twisting and turning my posterior while crouching down into a low position' is gonna take some practice though. Oww! My back hurts just reading it.

CHICKENDANCE fits nicely in the keywords.

Grand Prix cars swerve to avoid protester at 145mph

A man ran on to the circuit during the British Grand Prix at Silverstone yesterday, forcing cars to swerve to avoid him at 145mph.

The man confronts the cars on Hangar Straight
|
The incident on the 12th lap caused the race to be stopped temporarily as marshals chased the man on Hangar Straight, the fastest section of the circuit, after he scaled a high-security fence.
He was caught and charged with "aggravated trespass". Northamptonshire police said the 56-year-old man, originally from Co Kerry but now based in London, was performing a religious protest.
As he cavorted in front of oncoming racing cars, dressed in a green beret and a green and orange kilt, he waved signs that declared: "Read the Bible, the Bible is always right." The race organisers said a full investigation had been launched.
Mark Webber, who was driving in the race, said: "It really shocked me. The last thing you expect is some idiot doing this. For a moment I thought it was the end for me."
The incident came after Formula One's commercial rights holder, Bernie Ecclestone, and Max Mosley, the president of the sport's ruling body, said the circuit was in danger of being dropped from the motor-racing calendar.

Wasn't there someone else that had the same problem??Wasn't me, or my sister. Mine has worked OK so far, but now if it breaks I know how to fix it (knock on wood).

can any of you guys pass for 17?I couldn't pass for 17 when I was 17.
If I wanted to be in a movie, I could have applied to be an extra on the new production of The Alamo... it's filming in a little town near here.

If Shakespeare wrote the hokey-pokey:
O proud left foot, that ventures quick within
Then soon upon a backward journey lithe.
Anon, once more the gesture, then begin:
Command sinistral pedestal to writhe.
Commence thou then the fervid Hokey-Poke,
A mad gyration, hips in wanton swirl.
To spin! A wilde release from Heavens yoke.
Blessed dervish! Surely canst go, girl.
The Hoke, the poke -- banish now thy doubt
Verily, I say, 'tis what it's all about.
To: HairOfTheDog
'twisting and turning my posterior while crouching down into a low position' is gonna take some practice though. yeah... like you haven't done that before...
To: g'nad; ecurbh
ROTFL! g'nad! I am innocent I tell you!
.... and now ecurbh is talkin' bout "hips in wanton swirl"... I'm gettin' the vapors...
