The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Had a little mildew and a lot of dirt. I feel better about dumping diluted ammonia than I do about chlorine bleach solutions.

And did I mention that if I'm here only a few more minutes the class will be over and he'll be returning to his office which is the next one down the hall from mine? Hmmmm....you might have a problem with your bike that he might be able to help you with....

Well, that is the excuse I have to talk with him in a bit. I need to find the appropriate mechanic in the area to do some maintenance I need right now.

I hate mildew!!! Worse than lots of other stuff. Dirt is dirt and comes off. Mildew is just forever.

Hehe...

I hate mildew!!! It's humid in these parts.

ROFL!!!! And YOU are the one sayin' we're hard on 'em? Well, I am not saying that welcome mat has been a real 'winning' strategy for me! It was an example, not a good example!
This one does seem to be the strategy I am hoping to adopt.

Yeah, I know. I see so many houses that get mildewed almost just after being built down on the coast. Makes 'em look real old before their time.
I had a little bit from time to time during long wet spells at the old house but haven't had that trouble here. Here, I have to be always trying to get things WET!

The only exterior mildew problem I have is at the front entrance on the "ceiling". It's humid here and that spot never gets sunlight.
To: Overtaxed
Did the ammonia take care of it for ye?
The students are in there taking a written test now. I think that means they should leave soon.

Yes.
I might end up painting it again anyway. I have to paint the railing and porch to match the new steps. But then again...I can probably get away with leaving it....but then again, it wouldn't be that much trouble to paint.

Hmmmm...GWTW is on TCM tonight at 8:00.

Are you watching GWTW on TCM or Casablanca in chat/view? Doesn't matter. I don't get TCM, but I have an old GWTW video somewhere's even.

Casablanca is good for me. It's in the VCR now. I don't have to search for it.
Oh, yeah, you got the DVD huh?
