Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Sorry to take so long getting back to you, but Rose and I finally drove down to San Antonio today to get our new glasses. We were supposed to go last Friday but we got lazy and didn't.
The deal with boxes at the Post Office is this: the plain boxes and tape and such cost money. But, the boxes, labels, and tape that have "Priority Mail" on them are free. The only catch is, you can only use them for Priority Mail shipments, not any other class of mail. I once cheated by taking a box apart and putting it back together inside-out to send something overseas using Airmail, and the postal clerk told me not to do that any more.
I've never been in a post office that didn't have Priority Mail boxes available. Sometimes you have to ask a clerk for them, though.

Not bad. I had one chocolate chip and one M&M cookie. I gave in after being good for nearly two months, though.
