The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

But the boys love them. Sigh..wouldn't you figure...I bake cookies and muffins and they want a Moonpie. Yeah, I kinda figured they would. And I probably wouldn't have sent them to the Chaplain in Afghanistan that way..... I sure wouldn't have sent a box with one removed! But, just suggesting. You might know the chaplain better than me.

You got chairs out fer you and Ramius?
To: Wneighbor
I dunno. I remember this story, a guy prayed and prayed and prayed for God to give him the winning Lotto ticket.
Finally he asked the Lord, "Why haven't you answered my prayer?"
The Lord said, "Why haven't you bought a ticket?"

Speaking as a guy, we don't care about the box.

Workin' to earn my keep around the place! - Sounds wonderful, and I bet you would get me in shape! (were you ever a DI?) But, I think it would fit the dictionary definition of a commune. ;~D

all the good spots are gonna be taken! Heh, when we went to the D.C. parade after Desert Storm, we had my m-i-l and Jr. was in a stroller, he had just turned 2 (I have a great picture of him with a flag). We got there and sat at the front of the crowd that was already gathering (I think we arrived 3 hours early). But my m-i-l couldn't walk any further.
People behind us were really pi$$ed. But by the time the parade started, we were 15-20 people back. Still, with everybody seated, it really wasn't hard to see the tanks.

When the boys are long gone, I plan to just sit and fish.
I love to fish.

When the boys are long gone... We were at the water park Saturday and I sat down on one of the lounge chairs for about 20 seconds. I realized that was the first time I've done that all season. I'm ususally chasing Luke. We were just at the point where we could let Jr. run off and play on his own...

A flaming motorcycle crash is in my future before that happens. Now everybody knows that you are really Evel Knievel.
