Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

"What DOES happen to the orcs when they die? I think they go to this town I now live in."
Here in Dade County I think a large part of the population are refugees from Gary Larsen's Far Side cartoons.

I just think lots of the people that live here look like the people in Larsen's drawings.

I like the last 2 photos also, but I don't like that light fabric lining.Me neither, but it's the style I was looking at.
Perfect = Dark blue velvet with matching dark silk lining. Ooooh.

"I just think lots of the people that live here look like the people in Larsen's drawings."Yikes...sorry to hear that!

my daughter is very outgoing also, in contrast to me. Like you, she refers to some of her friends as "girly" girls. She likes them just fine tho, even tho that is not her.

Ooohhh! Sounds gorgeous! With a white wool dress underneath?

With a white wool dress underneath? But of course! The dress would have lovely silver-white embroidery of tiny stars on the skirt and bodice (sparingly), barely visible, except in starlight and moonlight. It would match the color of the stars on the cloak, of course.

Will you have your dayghter with you next year at entmoot? Myranda keeps saying she wants to come, but she's going to be in seminary then so I don't know if she can.
Didn't you say your daughter was about 14? or did I dream that? Myranda is 17.

Where on earth would I wear such an expensive outfit? Because I wouldn't want something chinchy...
To church? They already think I'm off (I mean, who else gets in a fight with the head deacon who also happens to be a prominent member of the mental health care community?)
If I were getting married again, maybe...Maybe for our 25th Anniversary? A renewing of vows?
Ohhhh...but it's beautiful! I wouldn't mind rhinestones...some are quite beautiful and distinguished.
To: 2Jedismom
I just think lots of the people that live here look like the people in Larsen's drawings. And I hope she bid on those rhinestone flowers on ebay last night.

I don't know why Jen is being quarantined, since I was away when it happened, just that she is.
Hope that she will be freed soon, as she is our main Tolkien scholar.
