Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

It is an amazing thing from here. Someday I hope I see it.
It IS an amazing thing .. I've been through the eye of TWO hurricanes .. one small and right on the coast of florida .. the other somewhat broken up and quite a ways inland. The most incredible thing is to see and feel the wind whipping in one direction, trees bending, debri flying by .. and then TOTAL STILLNESS .. and THEN .. everything changes directions and starts blowing the other direction, trees bend the other way, debri that flew by 20 minutes ago is now flying by in the other direction ..
weather is an amazing thing!

You want to see a hurricane? You have to leave your 7 acres. I love big weather. I love to go to the ocean and watch the surf when the small storms we get come in. I am fascinated by it. I would love to have seen in my life a hurricane and a tornado and and a big earthquake.... Saw a pretty cool volcano once but that is it.

Well, I gotta go get dressed and ready for a meeting. With a guy that works for a company here in town. He agreed to hire one of my students on a work-study deal this summer. This has been a slightly problematic student so I'm not sure what to expect. I just got a very abrupt email yesterday saying he needed to see me at 10:30 this morning.

Okay, so I linked the sound to the picture. How do I do that and make the link go to another web page?Sorry, I was tired last night and forgot to look into this for you. So when the link is clicked, you want the sound to play and send them to the home page, correct? Well it looks like it may be possible, but pretty tricky. The best way may be to built an intermediary page with the audio embedded, and which will then redirect to the home page.
Here is the code to embed audio:

To make a page redirect to another one:

The number within the CONTENT attribute is the delay in seconds before going to the specified address. That may need to be changed to allow time for the audio file to download.
