The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

I'll have to check my reference books when I get home, I'm not sure offhand. We've pretty much caught up for the evening, so hopefully I can get out a little early.

And Jill still wants her to stay with her and the kids in Germany? It could perhaps be the reason why Jill wants her to stay with the kids in Germany. Myranda might come closer to disciplining them. Jill yells and then ignors whatever they're doing.

Yes, that would do it. Still, I should know better.
To: Ramius
For real? Wow. She was good in the Joan of Arc miniseries a few years ago.

Big'ol picked it up, I scanned a few pages. Don't know that I'll read it. I know it's heresy, but I don't care for her writing style. She argues the same way liberals argue- emotional, erratic, below the belt. It is too difficult to discern a good point from hyperbole- a little bit is fun, but too much makes for a very 'loud' text.
Flame me. But hey. Am gonna hit the sack. Need my beauty sleep for silly class tomorrow.

(And I think she needs a good, hearty, hobbit-style meal or two.)
To: Ramius
All right bubba. It's time for the pirate to emerge. No fishing or trolling. Outright piracy on your part. NOW!

I wouldn't have recognized her or the name Leelee Sobieski

So, is she in town doin' a film or what? Did you recognize her or did someone else ID her?
To: ecurbh
For real? Wow. She was good in the Joan of Arc miniseries a few years ago. Yep. No doubt at all.
She was also "good" as a the [ahem] daughter of that shopkeeper in "Eyes Wide Shut". Not that I looked, or anything. I've just uh... heard about it. :-)
To: Lil'freeper
Heh.... I won't flame you, my unpopular opinion is that she writes better than she argues on TV, but not much! We chicks don't get it, evidently, which is fine. They can have Ann....
To: Wneighbor
Wenches!!! Heave to and prepare to be boarded!!! :-)
To: Lil'freeper
I'm not gonna flame ya. I like to hear her talking. But, I'm not sure I'd stick with the reading. That's why I asked the question.
LOL! One reason I was thinking of Ann in particular though is that I thought my s-i-l over there in Baghdad away from my kid for 4 months now might also like the picture on the front of the book!!! And he might be entertained by the reading if it's good enough to keep your attention span and not tick you off.

She was up here at the bar... and I commented to Loren (the bartender) that "Damn... that's very [censored]". We both commented that she looked somehow familiar but wasn't one of the regulars. He was the one that said "hey, I think that's Leelee Soblieski..." a little googling later and a bartender trip to her table confirmed same.
To: Wneighbor
I certainly hope so.

Evening everyone! Sorry about so down in the dumps earlier, but today was a bit difficult for me.
I should have spent more time in the Hole but I just couldn't since I had to actually learn and use a new software at work today. The SAME IJIT who wants to close the office at the end of the month demanded that I install it today and use it. No purpose to it whatsoever, since I won't be working there long enough to bother with it, but there you go!
It was very annoying to have to sit there and go through the motions and be Hobbit Hole-less all day, made worse by the knowledge that the chances of my job being saved are fast approching nil. But I just know that God has something better for me waiting in the wings. I just have to be ready to take it. :)
Anyway, I am THRILLED to hear about your interview Corin!!! My prayers are with you. Be sure you'll have internet access or NO WAY! LOL! :)
Let me set out some grub.
