Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Well, I am thinking of building a room in the basement of the "Hole" where us guys can hang out, as with you dwarves not around, the place is getting slightly overrun with hobbit ladies.

That is a good thing, of course, as they are all beautiful and attractive ladies, and wonderful to be with, but I just feel like we need a room to escape in once in awhile, so we can drink beer, use foul language, talk about hunting, talk about fishing, talk about ladies, actually.

I am panelling the whole thing with knotty pine, putting stuffed fish and deer heads on the wall, a keg in the corner, a wooden bar, a refrigerator and freezer with venison in it and smoked fish, and old railroad lanterns for lighting and a fireplace for heat. And some old half collapsed easy chairs. Maybe a TV for football for the Bear and for watching dvd's of the movie.

I believe it was very mild compared to yours, but even so I was stunned at how sick I got. I stayed in bed for 3 days and nights, alone, since I was at the old home place, and my family was in FL, too nauseated and dizzy to eat and praying that I wouldn't die, which I thought I might, until someone persuaded me to see a doctor.

By then I was dehydrated and he said I was going to UVA hospital, however an IV perked me up some. A week of rest with gatorade and meds and I was able to travel home to family, a week later I was back to full time work.

Nearly a year later when I went for my yearly checkup, my doc said he saw scar tissue in my ear.

I have gotten the idea that these things are kind of dangerous, so I hope you will keep an eye out if you have many symptoms.

I didn't hear roaring like you, only lots of chimes, like on an airliner, but luckily don't hear them anymore. My hearing is fine, too.

I'm so glad! We were starting to get way too lop-sided in our peoples department! All hobbitses and elfses just don't seem quite as nice.
